On 9th November 2011, Blue Star Delos arrived at the port of Piraeus. It was presented to the public and soon after, joined the route Piraeus-Paros-Naxos-Ios-Santorini.
Many years back, in 2002, with the Newbuildings & Development Division of Attica Group and primarily with our dear friend and exceptional colleague, Mr. Costis Stamboulelis, the long and arduous path of designing the new ship-concept begun. This journey included many drawings, countless meetings, suggestions, ideas, visits to many shipyards around the world: both enthusiasm and laughter together with frustration. Through all this, the structure and character of the new ship developed. Our shared vision was to create the "most beautiful ship of the Aegean"! Hadn’t it been for our mutual respect and appreciation, confidence, and a shared love for the new project, it could have been archived and forgotten in a drawer.
We were lucky: Mr. Stamboulelis, very passionately convinced everyone and the project was finally signed with DSME shipyard in Okpo, South Korea. We cannot hide that we are very proud of the "New Star of Blue Star Ferries" as it was characterized at the time!
